Pastor Cherian listens to tributes of former board members and volunteers
At the conclusion of decades of challenging members of congregations and communities to strive for a “small glimpse of heaven,” Pastor Cherian Puthiyottil was honored on the occasion of his retirement. The celebration was held on June 13, 2010 at Central Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, the congregation where Pastor Cherian first began his outreach ministry to new immigrants in the community.
Since 1999, Pastor Cherian served as founder and director of Agora. In sessions of Cultural and Mission Awareness training for congregations, and as he met with participants of the Discipleship Academy, Pastor Cherian often presented the vision of a multicultural church capturing a small glimpse of heaven.
