Discipleship Academy 2008-2009

Academy is launching a new initiative in its new curriculum year starting September 13 at Central Lutheran. A new way of doing discipleship training by equipping leaders for 21st century missions.

Uniqueness of Agora Academy — Leaders of various communities and long time members of existing congregations interacting and interpreting their faith practices and scriptural understandings in a collegial and non threatening environment.

Goal – to prepare leaders for doing mission and ministry locally and globally.

Curriculum- A well-planned curriculum founded on Scripture, especially based on the teachings of Jesus and Apostle Paul.

Academy curriculum is established for interactive dialogue in the class room.

Classes are inspirational. Instructors are from Luther Seminary, Augsburg college, and pastors from congregations.

Expected outcome — Academy will prepare 20 - 25 people to become the “letters from Christ” (2 Cor. 3:3) for mission in neighborhoods. Participants also prepared for engaging in missions in other countries.

Sessions — 14 weeks, every other Saturday, 9:00 a.m.—12:00 noon.

Location — Central Lutheran Church, 333 12th Street South, Minneapolis.
